Oops, I did it again

November 27, 2006 · 3 Comments

I colored my hair again. And as usual, I hate it. I’m sure it’ll look better in a few days (or i’ll fix it!!) and anything was better than my 6 inch roots!

In spite of both being sick as hell (first me, then The Highlander) we had a lovely Thanksgiving. On Thursday, The Highlander and I made turkey, and ate it while Ducky napped. While I was melting butter in the microwave to coat the turkey, it flashed like Roswell at me. I called to THL, “Either the microwave died, or Zoul is coming”

We didn’t have to call the Ghostbusters, but we did have to go to Wally-World on Friday. It was bananas, even at 8 pm! But we got a new spacey micro for $80!

Also on friday, I got an awsome card from my strangerfriend, Lynn! I heart you Lynn! See- sometimes it’s OK to give your address to people on the interwebs!

On Saturday, my mom, grandmother and cousin came from CT. Ducky really loved seeing everyone, and I felt like such a fucking grown-up. I had my grandmother over at MY HOUSE for dinner. We had ham, and even better, The Highlander took care of all the pork-related cooking. I generally couldn’t care less about it, but he made an awesome glaze.

So that’s about it. Back to work for all of us. :-(

Let the 4 day weekend hangover begin!

Music, music, I hear music

November 24, 2006 · 3 Comments

Can I just tell you how much I am loving “When you were young” by the Killers?

He doesn’t look a thing like Jesus, but he talks like a gentleman, like you imagined when you were youuuuuunnnnnnng…….

No fucking clue what that means, but it doesn’t stop me from belting it out.

And go ahead and laugh at me, but I’m going to post my current iTunes playlist:

YES, YES, YES, allright. I admit it. I’m listening to that ladyboy Jared Leto and his “band” 30 seconds to Mars.

I love the Emo kids, I guess.

You might as well give up on me RIGHT NOW.

Thankful

November 23, 2006 · 3 Comments

Here’s what I’m thankful for:

1. Stove Top Stuffing

2. The fact that we’re not driving anywhere today. This is a BIG deal for me. I have never lived in the same town, and often not in the same state as any of my family.

3. The fact that I have tommorrow off to clean, because my mom and grandma are coming on Saturday.

4. My grandmother is coming to visit me!!

5. Ducky saying “Happy Tanksginin” and “Tour-key, goggle goggle”

6. AND finally, that I didn’t appear to fuck up the turkey.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, ALL!

If you want to destroy my sweater, pull this thread as I walk away

November 14, 2006 · 3 Comments

So we’re back from our adventures in Binghamton,NY. We left later than we wanted on Saturday, and we got up there around 7:30. So we just went straight to the Thai restaurant where my friend and her friends were busy getting nice and tight on some NY wine. (DO NOT MAKE FUN OF THE NY WINE! I do not tolerate bashing of the state of my birth!!)

I actually didn’t hate my dinner, which is saying a lot, believe me. I’m not big on any sort of asian food.

Then we went over to my friend’s new house. I’m so proud of her!! And jealous too, but not in a begrudging way. I’d post pictures, but my BFF is a party pooper, and has specifically requested that I never post her picture on the interwebs.

After that we went to the one bar in a college town where people over 25 go. I guess that would explain the 80’s music. And not even good 80’s music. So, needless to say, I was a little out of my element for a while, but I simply dulled my inhibitions with tequila. Mmmm, there just ain’t nothin’ a margarita can’t fix. :-)

Saturday night was momentous because it marks the first time The Highlander and I have ever been simultaneously drunk. We generally take turns. I was only at the “funny” drunk stage. I must have been. Because I would deny even knowing a Weezer song much less singing one at the top of my lungs in my friend’s car otherwise.
