WOW

March 25, 2007 · 4 Comments

Good Gravy! What with changing over my computer and having finally caught the intestinal virus that Ducky had all week, I damn near FORGOT that I had a blog!

I do believe that my fever was a bit higher than I first thought.

Also, to those who are interested, for the time being, we’re not moving to Maryland. The deal fell through. Not exactly sure how I feel about it, so it just is what it is. :-)

Gotta go. Laundry time.

We interrupt this blog to bring you a special bulletin…

March 19, 2007 · 2 Comments

I’ve been listening to this new radio station at work. It’s called Fresh, and the concept is Lite-FM (easy listening) with songs that are only 5-10 years old, not 25-30 years old. It’s OK, not sure what it means that I’m  not even 30 and tuning in to easy listening, BUT, it’s a relief from hearing the same 8 songs ALL DAY. I just can’t listen to Z100 all day anymore ‘Cuz if I have to hear Justin Timberlake ONE.MORE.TIME. I am going to kill somebody.

So, my point, and I do have one, is that they’ve been playing Seal’s “Love’s Divine” all month, and if you don’t think Seal’s voice is velvetly liquid sex, then you are made of wood.

I need love, love’s divine
Please forgive me now I see that I’ve been blind
Give me love, love is what I need to help me know my name

Super Happy Yum Yum Time

I bought 3 boxes of Pocky at Stop & Shop tonight. One for The Highlander, One for me, and One to share. Think that sounds gluttonous? Then you obviously haven’t tried the Japanese dericiosness that is Pocky. And I feel sorry for you.

Here I go again with the weather!

This will be quick & painless, I swear.

Just Wednesday, I was in a tank top (it was hot in Friendly’s) and today I slalomed home. Winter has just bitch slapped me in the face. “Ya thought I was gone, didn’t ya??”

Ducky’s day care closed at 3, and she was all anxious about it, so she didn’t nap. She of course fell asleep aroung 4 minutes before we got home, and now she is G-R-U-M-P-Y, but violently protests the idea of going to bed for a few minutes. So instead, she’s randomly whimpering in her room. Kids!

It’s here

March 15, 2007 · 2 Comments

My computer arrived this afternoon, and instead of waiting until Ducky was asleep, like an adult who thinks logically, I tore into everything and had a toddler right there with me in the dust bunnies under my desk.

I haven’t really had a chance to test this baby out, because I didn’t bother moving any programs or data. There’s no point, since I’m not keeping Vista. And it does suck. I can’t use Firefox, iTunes, and a bunch of other stuff. Oh well. Since I actually own a legit copy, whenever they update it, I can always go back.

The Highlander is as we speak about 80 miles from his hotel in the undisclosed location (hehe. i like secrets! LoL), and has several hours of interviews tommorrow. I’m sooooo excited!

That is all. I’m off to eat my spaghetti now. I always eat that when The Highlander is not home. He’s not a huge fan of the macaroni. Funny, you’d think that by marrying a (half) Sicilian, we’d be eating it all the time. He says he ate it all the time growing up and he’s sick of it. You’d also think he’d have worn a kilt at our wedding. (the other half is scottish) But that’s a rant for another day! :-)

I wasn’t kidding

March 13, 2007 · Leave a Comment

You might be wondering why, after all that whining, why I didn’t post any hair pictures. It isn’t because it looks that bad, or that I didn’t take any. I am simply too lazy to go into my GD bedroom and get the card reader.

BUT, when my new computer arrives, it will have a 13 in 1 card reader BUILT RIGHT IN. Which is good, because we’re using at least 4 different formats in our various camera, video cameras and cell phones.

That is all.

Dear John

March 13, 2007 · 1 Comment

Dear Windows Vista,

Why? Why do you have to be so shitty? Why do you not work with ANYTHING? You look so cool, and you just came out, and I’m finally getting a brand spanking new Smell computer (Dude, you’re gettin’ a smell!) which will arrive tomorrow or the next day, AND YOU ARE NOT COMPATIBLE WITH ANYTHING. I had such high hopes for you and you suck.

So, I will toy with you over the weekend, and then throw you out like a bad booty call in the light of day. The Highlander will eradicate you like polio when he formats the (320GB, 7200 RPM–OMG!!!) Hard Drive, and installs your blander, but infinitely more functional cousin, Windows XP with Service Pack 2.

Sigh. It didn’t have to be this way. It’s not me, it’s you.

Love and Kisses,

Type (little) a

PS- Dear Gateway Desktop I bought in 2001. Don’t let the door hit ya!

PPS- Smell computer, why are you so in bed with Microsoft that you make it impossible for me to get anything but Vista pre-installed? It’s garbage. Don’t pretend you don’t know. Charging hundreds of dollars extra for a machine without an operating system is a nice touch. The icing though, is that you won’t support any O/S you don’t install. Dicks.

Spring has sprung

March 12, 2007 · 2 Comments

Here I go again. Posting about the weather. For what it’s worth, I’m not complaining. It’s nice to smell spring in the air. I had a hard time convincing Ducky that she didn’t need her coat, mittens and hat. Freakin kid loves her cold weather wear. What a weirdo. I hate all that shit.

For the first time in a while it’s was nice enough to play outside. We took the sidewalk chalk down to the, well, sidewalk, and Ducky wasn’t very interested in the sun and the flower that I draw EVERY TIME (don’t tell anyone, but that and boobies is all I can draw). So instead, she took one piece of orange chalk and marked every square in the courtyard. Then we played “skipping feet, kicking feet, and I’m gonna get you feet”, mainly because I wanted to distract her from the “grass” which could more accurately be described as mud.

And I wonder, though not enough for someone to explain it to me, what is up with Daylight Saving Time starting 3 weeks early? I don’t see the point I guess. But that’s just me.

The Highlander and I just finished Borat.

I thought it would be kind of stupid. I was wrong.

SO FUCKING FUNNY.

The Bear in the Ice Cream Truck. Enough said.
