Controversy, I has it!
Actually, I’m just fucking with you. I’d lit the candles to make the kitchen smell nice, and I TOTALLY turned off the light to take the picture. Although, it was only Mac & Cheese, I definately COULD have cooked that in the dark. Hell, I have a picky eater, so I make The Blue Box often. I could probably cook that in my SLEEP.
A few months ago, we were at a friend’s house, and he kept annoying his wife by turning lights off/down while they were working in the kitchen. And when we got dragged into the “argument”, I agreed with him, and The Highlander sided with her. Her reason? That the her husband and I both have light (green) eyes, and the she and The Highlander both have brown eyes, so therefore we were more sensitive to light than they were. Has anyone heard this too? It sounds like junk science to me, but still pretty interesting.
Have a great weekend!

Well, I prefer more light and I have light eyes, so there goes that theory…..

I’ve heard that too. It has something to do with brown eyes having more pigment? I have light blue/green/grey eyes and I’m very sensitive to light, so that’s 3 of us. That’s enough to prove a theory, right?

NO! NOT CRAZY TALK!
Unless I’m crazy, too. I feel strongly about this. I have very light green eyes, and they are super-sensitive–I can’t be outside for TWO MINUTES without sunglasses (and I do have good vision–I don’t otherwise wear glasses.)
And I like a dim kitchen, thank you very much. Who wants to feel like you’re in a gas station bathroom while you’re cooking?
Also all about the blue box. Used to follow the directions and forget them every time. Then Jarrah came along, and I feel like my Kraft is an art form.

That’s actually a pretty cool picture.
That eye thing is the kind of thing that SOUNDS like total bullshit, but disproving it would take some kind of effort and you never want to be THAT PERSON who goes all Fussypants and looks it up. Dilemma. Doesn’t the MIDDLE part of the eye control the amount of light though? You know, the part that is NOT COLORED?

I think you should send this in to Mythbusters and get the answer once and for all.
For myself, I have dark brown eyes and I hate the light. IT buuuuurrrrnnnnnssss!

I wish it was safe to cook with the lights off like that, it’s so relaxing. Not to mention my obsession with candles.
